Winter Tournament Week round up:

Football 1st XI finished 7th in NZ. Beating MAGS twice and Auckland Grammar once. Zac Muir was MVP for the tournament.
Football 2nd XI was invited to play in the Trident Cup (Div 3) and played against 1st XIs from other schools. They won 6 out of their 8 games and beat Waimea 1st XI in the 9th 10th playoff. Joel Harden was MVP.

Hockey 1st XI finished 13th in NZ. They enjoyed beating Rangitoto College and being 3 1 down to Napier Boys and coming back to draw 4 all in their final game. Sam Hay was MVP.

Basketball Junior SISS travelled to Dunedin and were undefeated with convincing wins in pool play. They beat Waitaki Boys in the Semi Final and Cashmere by 12 points to become SISS Champions. Max Darling dominated the scoring.

Basketball Senior SISS, although disappointed to miss out on a top 6 finish and qualify for Nationals the team finished strongly winning their last 3 games. They ended up 9th after an excellent overtime win against St Bedes. Adam Leonard was our top scorer with 151 points for the tournament.

SISS U15 Rugby, had a week of close games with narrow wins and losses. They beat Marlborough Boys in the place off for 5th and 6th

Underwater Hockey Jr Boys travelled to Rotorua to compete in the National Championship. They were undefeated in pool play with a draw against Glendowie College. They ended up meeting them again in the final and winning in sudden death overtime with a great goal to Perry Smith. Congratulations to Perry Smith and Nic Clark who were named in the Tournament Team.

SISS Gymnastics – Sam Fu-Allen is the South Island Champion after winning 5 out of 6 apparatus. He will compete in the National Championships later in the year.
