Course Description
In this course students will produce work that ranges from drawing and rendering, to graphic design produced using computers and software such as Photoshop and Illustrator. An interesting range of projects are designed to develop creative problem solving skills.
Leads to Level 3 Art Design.

ART PAINTING - Level 2

Course Description
This is a fine arts course in Painting. Students will prepare a two-page folio and a workbook. They will develop a wide range of skills and study traditions in art and art making.
Leads to Level 3 Art subjects.

ART PHOTOGRAPHY - Level 2

Course Description
This course covers picture taking, composition, darkroom development, computer and digital presentation, and preparing a two-panel folio and workbook. Students study the history and traditions of photography
and learn competent use of camera, Darkroom equipment and/or Photoshop.

HISTORY OF ART (NCG) - Level 2
Full year course - Prerequisites: Must meet the entry requirements for Level 2 English
Course Description:
This course explores themes and techniques used in Art and the historical contexts in which it is made. Students will learn to analyse art works' formal elements, symbolism and influences. In the internal assessments students will look at art in Nelson's environment, visit galleries to critique work and investigate an art crime. The focus is 19th century Art including artists such as: Monet, David, Delacroix, Cezanne, Millet, Van Gogh, Rodin, Manet.
