All Year 11 and 12 students are required to study English and will be placed in one of the following courses: English Language; English Literature: English Extension, Communication Literacy or ESOL. Students will be selected on their results and teacher recommendation.

 

ESOL ENGLISH - Level 2
Prerequisites: Testing and assessment on entry
Course Description
This internally assessed course concentrates on developing communicative and academic language and follows inquiry based approach at Level 2.
* A range of ESOL and English standards will be offered worth 10-15 credits.
Qualification: Credits towards NCEA

ESOL - Level 2

Course Description
ESOL unit standards will be offered at elementary and intermediate level that develop reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. Some English Achievement standards may be available.
