Nelson College Preparatory School is a unique learning environment. It is the only New Zealand independent boys school attached to a state secondary school.
This blend allows the boys at Prep to enjoy and study in a classroom environment with other boys who are equally motivated to achieve and benefit from the enriched learning opportunities provided within the College.
Message from the Head Teacher
The great Year 8 North Island camp dominated the first term’s outdoor education programme with many highlights. A close second was the 7EN class Abel Tasman tramp which had fantastic weather. Other activities such as camping on the top field, tramping at Pepin Island, the Rabbit Island trip, a visit to Nelson Museum and a drama performance certainly added varied dimensions to the first term calendar. Prep staff took the opportunity to reflect on the success of our outdoor programme, which is one of the hallmarks of our school, and where better to do this than in the outdoors. The photo shows the staff heading off from Bushline Hut after eating Jonathan’s deluxe cooked breakfast.
