Year 9 2017

Welcome to Nelson College and Term 1 2017

I have great pleasure in welcoming your son to Nelson College, a college with a significant history of providing a quality education for boys.

In 2017 the College aims to consolidate its successes and reinforce the basic principles of a high achieving school.

Your son’s first day at College will be Wednesday 1 February at 8.50am in the Hall.

This will be a House based activity day at the college where he will spend time getting to know the other boys in his Homeroom class and the Year 13 Leaders in his House. He will also meet a range of staff over the course of the day. Year 9 and 13 students wear mufti clothing.

The purpose of our Homerooms is to help improve student connectedness and resiliency through ongoing relationships between students and their peers, and students and a ‘significant’ adult. In a practical sense, Homerooms also help in the organisation of House activities and competitions under which boys thrive.
