Nelson College 1st XI have had double success by winning the Nelson Bays Football Men’s 1st Division title on Thursday by beating Suburbs 2-0. They then went on to win the Price Charity Cup on Saturday with a 2-1 win against FC Nelson. Congratulations to all the players, coaches and managers for a successful season.
National Secondary Schools Culinary Championships
Congratulations to students Chakkapong Klahan and Louis Clark who won three gold medals in the NZ Secondary Schools Culinary Championships in Auckland last Friday and then won the overall title and Gold medal. The first-time finalists, Louis and Chakkapong competed against eight other teams during the intense 90-minute cook-off held at Auckland’s Manukau Institute of Technology. Well done and a huge thanks to their Food Technology teacher Quinton Gately.
National Male Choir
David de Theirry auditioned for a guest performance spot to sing with the National Male Choir at the upcoming Nelson Music Festival over Labour Day Weekend. Comments from the audition were that he was consistent, lyrical, rhythmic and brave for a soloist of his age. The musical director offered the spot to David to perform two songs at the event.
