Year 11 Study Skills Seminars
Over the next few weeks we will be running a series of seminars for Year 11 students to support them in their time management, study skills and preparation for exams. The first year of NCEA can be demanding and for a number of students sitting exams is also an unknown. These seminars will be run by a number of guidance staff, experienced teachers and Deans to help prepare students for the exams and pressures of the upcoming term.
They will be held during Wednesday period 5s over Weeks 4-6 (commencing 13 August). To opt in return the attached slip to Mr Hart or your homeroom teacher before the end of Tuesday next week (19th August). If you miss the first session but then decide you would like to attend this may be possible dependent on numbers.
The seminars will be on the following areas and will run by rotation in small groups:
- Sleep
- Effective habits for success
- Study skills and revision techniques
- Exam technique
- Time management and planning use of time
We strongly recommend attendance for all Year 11 students.
Should you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact either of us at school.
